In 1945, Eastern Air Lines asked Breuer to design a ticket office in the Hotel Statler in Boston. Breuer worked in association with Hugh Stubbins, Jr. to design an environment with light gray, undulating, corrugated walls and ceiling. The room was divided into halves, one of which was dominated by a colorful bank of seating wrapping around an organic free-form table topped in black Formica. The other half was dominated by an illuminated map of the airline's routes behind a gray ticket counter which also featured a black Formica top.
