Maxwell Fry, Walter Gropius's partner in London, arranged the "Seven Architects Exhibition" for Heal and Son, a well-known furniture dealer. The exhibition featured furniture designs by seven architects. Breuer contributed furniture for a living room space, including a hanging wall unit, "metal plastic" wall paneling, and a lounge chair. The wall cabinet featured three units whose front folded down to accommodate objects such as a type writer or record player. The chair was inspired by Alvar Aalto's plywood furniture and possessed continuous, curved plywood pieces that supported the upholstered seat of the chair and functioned as arm rests.
