This 1931 exhibition incorporated recent advances in architecture, construction, urban planning and interior design. A section entitled "Die Wohnung Unserer Zeit" (The Apartment of our Time) included models of full-scale homes and interiors. Mies van der Rohe organized the exhibition and invited Breuer to contribute at the last minute. Breuer designed and executed the House for a Sportsman and the 70 Square Meter Apartment within the space of a few weeks with the help of his former student and assistant, Gustav Hassenpflug.
