The housing authority for Washington, DC. It constructed temporary housing for defense workers and military personnel during World War II and provided affordable housing through the controversial method of slum clearance. The agency was called the Alley Dwelling Authority between 1934 to 1943. It was succeeded by the National Capital Housing Authority.
