Johansen, John (1916)

Architect. Johansen was a student of Gropius and Breuer at Harvard and he would go on to marry Gropius’s daughter, Ati. He worked for Breuer and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill before founding his own office in 1948. He also taught at numerous schools, most notably Pratt Institute. His projects include the US Embassy in Dublin and buildings for Roosevelt Island in collaboration with Ashok Bhavnani.
