Knoll, Florence (1917)

Designer and wife of Hans Knoll. She studied architecture at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, the Architectural Association in London and the Illinois Institute of Chicago. She also briefly worked for Gropius and Breuer. She married Hans Knoll in 1946 and helped him run their firm, Knoll Associates, one of the leading producers and suppliers of modern design in the U.S. After Hans Knoll's death in 1955, she became president of the company. Breuer frequently used Knoll furniture in his projects and designed the Brussels showroom for the firm.
