Tubbs, Ralph (1912 - 1996)

British Architect. Tubbs attended the Architectural Association and worked for Erno Goldfinger and in the office of Maxell Fry and Walter Gropius. In 1939, Tubbs became secretary of the MARS (Modern Architectural Research) Group, an organization that played a prominent role in supporting British modernism. His most famous building was the Dome of Discovery, built as part of the 1951 Festival of Britain. At the time it was built, it was the largest dome in the world with a diameter of 365 feet.
