In 1945, Breuer designed two versions of a house for returning veterans. Version A was wedge-shaped house that could be combined into a duplex with a butterfly roof. Breuer placed an open plan living and dining room along with a kitchen on the ground floor arranged in an L around the garage. The bedrooms and bathroom were on the upper floor. Each house also had access to a south-facing covered porch.
