Breuer designed several showrooms for Vera and George Neumann's furnishing and fashion-design enterprise, Scarves by Vera. The interior featured a photo mural by Herbert Matter, Eames wire chairs and a dividing wall to which Breuer affixed bottle corks, creating a textural and visual counterpoint to the smooth surfaces of the rest of the showroom. In 1953, Breuer would also design a house for the Neumanns in Croton-on-Hudson, NY.
