In 1951, Howard and Nancy Pack commissioned a house in Scarsdale, NY. Breuer designed a one-story, flat-roofed, L-shaped residence for the couple. The exterior of the house was faced in whitewashed brick and perforated brick walls marked the entrance and shielded the carport. The bedrooms were clustered at the end of one arm. They opened to the playroom which formed a transitional space to the public and service areas (including the maid's quarters) found in the other wing. A screened porch nestled in the angle of the two arms, and a low stone wall delineated a terrace accessibly from the porch. The majority of the rooms featured stone floors and plywood walls. Like many of his other houses of this period, Breuer used radiant heating. He also designed furniture for the Packs, including some tables and built-in cabinets.
