After seeing the Clark House, Vito Grieco asked Breuer to design a house in Andover, MA. Breuer complied with his client's request for a binuclear house, producing an L-shaped residence in which the bedroom wing was connected to the volume containing the main living spaces by a stone paved entrance court. The upper floor of the living wing was clad in vertical board-and-batten siding and cantilevered beyond the smaller stone-clad base. The strip windows illuminating the living and dining rooms were shaded by a large sunbreak similar to that found at the O. E. McIntyre plant designed nearly simultaneously. The grill of the sunshade was suspended by cables from vertical supports that extended beyond the top and bottom of the façade. The base of the house contained the garage, heater room and the guest bedroom. An exterior staircase with a pipe railing and cast concrete tread built into the garden wall lead up to a terrace and the entrance hall. The house was completed in 1954.
