Alvin Tilley requested the blueprints of the House in the Museum Garden in 1949. Breuer agreed to provide the plans along with his architectural services. He created a three-bedroom version of the exhibition house with some slight modifications requested by Tilley. As with many other projects, Breuer ordered furniture from Knoll and Herman Miller for the client. The house was completed by June of 1950.
