In January of 1952, George Robinson asked Breuer to design a residence for his family in Redding Ridge, CT. Robinson provided Breuer with an elaborate program and a description of the various family members' interests and occupations. Breuer produced preliminary plans and elevations, which reveal a two-story, flat-roofed house of stone and glass which was set into a hillside. An elaborate entry hall was located on the lower level near the carport. A switchback ramp led up to the living room, sun room and kitchen and then to the bedrooms at the other end of the house. Stone terraces penetrated the rectangular volume of the house on either side of the ramp and allowed entry from the upper level. Plans never proceeded beyond the preliminary stage as Robinson decided not to build just a few months after engaging Breuer's services.
