In early 1948, George Sandor asked Breuer to design a house for him in Mamaroneck, NY. Breuer researched the site and drew preliminary elevations and plans for the house. The house was to have a large living room with a small dining area attached. A kitchen, master bedroom and bedroom/study and screened porch completed the program. The two halves of the roof possessed different pitches to make room for a row of fixed-pane double windows in the space between their respective, highest points. Mr. Sandor was not able to sell his existing house and so the project never progressed beyond the preliminary plans.
