Projects by Name

Correspondence in Syracuse University’s Marcel Breuer Papers reveals that Herbert Beckhard designed the Staff House of the Esalen Institute for Andrew Gagarin, a client for whom Breuer had earlier designed two houses. The Esalen Institute is a nonprofit organization devoted to personal growth through activities such as psychotherapy, meditation, massage, Gestalt practice and yoga. Breuer was not involved in this project.
