In 1933, Mrs. Boelcke commissioned Breuer to renovate and furnish her conservatory (Wintergarten). Breuer designed some custom aluminum furniture for his client, including a writing desk, a table with a black glass surface and a couch. The color palette was largely black and aluminum with some natural white fabric or leather upholstery.
