Artek

Furniture company founded in Finland in 1935 by Alvar and Aino Aalto, along with Maire Gullichsen and Nils-Gustav Hal. Artek was founded with the goal "to sell furniture and to promote a modern culture of habitation by exhibitions and other educational means." In 1940, Artek partnered with Clifford Pascoe to manufacture and sell modern furniture in the United States. Their furniture storeroom in New York was called Artek-Pascoe, Inc. Artek-Pascoe supplied furniture for projects such as the Weizenblatt House.
