In 1961, Breuer and his associate, Herbert Beckhard, designed an addition to Breuer's vacation cottage in Wellfleet, MA. The square volume of the addition was separate from the main house but connected to it by a covered walkway, which replaced the original entrance stairs. It contained a studio with a fireplace, a bathroom and a screened porch.
