J. Shatsow hired Breuer to complete Coston House and design the interiors. Little is known about the design but Breuer left for America a few months after taking the commission. Shatsow wanted to hire another architect to finish the job but Breuer's partner, F. R. S. Yorke, objected to that course of action while a portion of Breuer's fees were still outstanding.
