Single-Family Dwelling Type 3, Bauhaus Housing Settlement

While still a student, Breuer designed a single-family house typology for Gropius's Bauhaus housing settlement in am Horn, Weimar. The settlement was never built, but Breuer's drawings for this project including a plan and an isometric drawing were published three years later in "Ein Versuchshaus des Bauhauses" (An Experimental House of the Bauhaus), the third in a series of books edited by Walter Gropius and László Moholy-Nagy. The drawings show a double-height living room nestled into the single-story, L-shaped, main body of the house.
