In the mid-1950s, Patrick McGinnis, the President of the New Haven Railroad, had hired Breuer to design new stations in New Haven, CT. and Rye, NY. Records indicate that Herbert Beckhard traveled to Charlmont, MA. to inspect a house that McGinnis was considering purchasing and renovating. Breuer's office produced drawings and a written assessment of the existing house, but the project seems to have been abandoned at this point.
