In the mid-1960s, Breuer and his partner Tician Papachristou produced a number of plans for a large-scale urban renewal project in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. In each version, a high school complex for 5,000 students consisting of a y-shaped high school tower, gymnasium, theater and science building remained basically the same. The firm experimented with different configurations for the residential, industrial and commercial buildings. Most of the complex was never built, but a modified version of the high school complex was constructed a decade later.
